Paul or "Bomber", captain of the B-ball "gold" team of 77-78, came to us from the Bronx in the summer of '74. Frequently citing trip sections to Lally's as the only thing keeping him sane, he survived academics, the tactical department, and gained the respect of many for his sincere friendship and loyalty.

Paul J. Aiello, 69, of Earlville, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at St. Camillus Residential Health Care Facility, Syracuse.
Paul was born on May 23, 1956, in New York City, a son of the late Ralph and Marie (Christiano) Aiello.
A proud graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1978, Paul earned a degree in Engineering and was a standout athlete. Following his graduation, he honorably served his country as an officer in the United States Army, as a Captain.
Paul coached at Wagner and Duke Summer League Program. He then was hired as Colgate University Men’s Assistant Basketball Coach and then served as the head coach following Jack Bruen’s passing. He continued working at Colgate in building and grounds until his retirement.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara (Garrel) Irving, two brothers, Robert (Elizabeth) Aiello, and Anthony (Kim) Aiello, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Karen Marie Aiello.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
